At Common Closet, our mission is to empower woman to diversify their fashion experiences. We believe that every occasion, big or small, deserves a special touch, and we’re here to make that possible. Our commitment is to provide a curated collection of high-quality dresses for rent, allowing our customers to look and feel their best without the burden of overspending. We provide a platform that offers luxury fashion for rent and sale of pre-owned clothes via our website.
Common Closet is operated and registered in Kuwait at Al Bidaa, Block 1, Cooperative Street, Hawalli, Kuwait 25000. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and dress rental services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with the terms, we strongly encourage you not to use these services.
These terms and conditions were last updated in November 2023. We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time, we will provide you with prior notice of any scheduled changes to the Services you are using. The modified Legal Terms will become effective upon posting them on the website and/or notifying you by email. By continuing to use the Services after the effective date of any changes, you agree to be bound by the modified terms.
Our Services:
By renting, lending, buying, or selling, you understand that you are entering a binding agreement and hereby agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions throughout the duration of using the service. If do not agree to the Terms and Conditions, please do not use our services.
General Terms:
Use of Common Closet Website
Registration
To access our services (i.e. rent, lend, sell or buy), you are required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
The Services are intended for users who are at least 16 years of age. If you are a minor, you must have your parent or guardian read and agree to these Legal Terms prior to you using the Services.
Common Closet has the right to terminate and deactivate any account at any time, without limitation, if it is determined that the customer has violated the terms and conditions or conducted any prohibited activities as described in the terms and conditions.
Changes to information
You confirm and guarantee the truth and accuracy of all information you provide during registration, and you agree to promptly modify, change, and correct any inaccurate details as soon as it becomes reasonably feasible.
Unauthorized and Prohibited Activities:
- Unauthorized Users: Users are strictly prohibited from using our dress rental service for any unlawful, unauthorized, or fraudulent purposes. This includes but is not limited to activities such as identity theft, hacking, abusive, threatening, or engaging in any other form of illegal activity. Additionally, users are prohibited from the collection of personal information to spam, intimidate, or more immoral purposes of other users is also an offense. Do not attempt to continue to use the platform if you have been suspended or banned from use.
- Misrepresentation: Users must not misrepresent their identity, age, or any other personal information during the registration process or when renting a dress. Any attempt to impersonate someone else or provide false information is strictly prohibited. Additionally, users should not sell or lend any counterfeit products unless stated clearly or write and post untruthful, and false reviews.
- Dress Modification: Users should not attempt to alter, damage, or modify the rented dress in any way. This includes but is not limited to sewing, dyeing, or making any permanent changes to the dress.
- Late Returns/Repeat Cancellations: Users must return the rented dress by the agreed-upon return date. Unauthorized extensions may result in penalties or additional late fees. Chronic late returns may lead to the suspension of rental privileges. Additionally, repeatedly cancellations will also incur additional charges.
- Loss/Theft/Damage: Users are solely responsible for the dresses you have rented and are liable for any damages or loss that may incur during the rental period. You as the renter remain liable to replace the dress if it’s damage. Once you agree to become a renter you agree to take responsibility for the dress. Damage will incur a repair charge, set at the discretion of Common Closet once inspections take place.
- Fee Avoidance: engage in any fraudulent, dishonest, and illegal activity such as fee avoidance, refers to the act of deliberately finding ways to avoid paying fees or charges that are typically required or expected in a particular transaction or situation.
- Intellectual Property: Infringe on the intellectual property of common closet or violate any of the terms in the Terms and Conditions. Use the platform to create a business that compete with any aspect of the business of common closet.
- Unsanitary Conditions: Dresses must be returned in a clean and sanitary condition. Any dress returned in an unsatisfactory state may incur additional cleaning fees.
- Unlawful Activity: Engaging in any activity that violates local, national, or international laws and regulations while using our service is strictly prohibited. This includes activities that may be considered offensive, harmful, or unethical. It is an offense to transmit viruses or any kind of malicious code, not limited to trojans, worms, logic bombs, that will affect the functionality of the website and/or service.
- Unauthorized Sharing: Sharing your account or login information with unauthorized individuals is not permitted. Each account is intended for the sole use of the registered user.
- Feedback Manipulation: Users should not engage in fraudulent or manipulative behavior to boost their own feedback or ratings or diminish the feedback of others on the platform. Additionally, users should not engage in actions that might reasonably cause loss to a user or to common closet.
- Bulk Rentals: Renting multiple dresses for the purpose of stockpiling or resale is not allowed. Our service is intended for personal dress rentals.
Violation of these terms may result in the suspension or termination of your account and could lead to legal action if deemed necessary. The dress rental company reserves the right to investigate and act against any user who is found in violation of these terms and conditions.
Intellectual Property
Ownership of Content:
All content provided on our dress rental platform, including but not limited to features and functionality, text, images, graphics, logos, designs, and software, is the intellectual property of our company and will remain the exclusive property of Common Closet and/or it’s licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to access and use the content solely for personal, non-commercial purposes related to the dress rental services offered by our company. Our trademarks, service marks, and logos should not be used without prior written permission from our company or the respective trademark owners. Users represent and warrant that any content submitted and posted to common closet they have the necessary rights to grant such a license and that their content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
Third-Party Intellectual Property:
Common Closet may contain links, references, or content from third parties. Such content is the intellectual property of their respective owners, and we do not claim ownership or endorse any third-party intellectual property displayed on our platform. Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of any third-party intellectual property complies with applicable laws and the terms and conditions set forth by the intellectual property owner.
Content Uploaded by Users
- Ownership and Authorization: By listing a dress, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the dress or have obtained proper authorization to rent it out. You agree not to list dresses that are stolen, counterfeit, or infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. Additionally, you will not provide any products that are defective.
- Accuracy of Information: When you list a dress on our platform, you are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date information about the dress, including its description, size, color, condition, and availability. Misleading or false information is strictly prohibited. The content is the user’s sole responsibility. Additionally, Common Closet has the right to modify any content, such as refining the image or replacing it with better quality content.
- User Generated Content: Our platform may allow you to upload content such as dress photos, reviews, comments, and other user-generated material. You are responsible for the content you upload, and it must comply with our community guidelines and the law.
- Rights and Permissions: When you upload content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute the content on our platform. However, you retain ownership of your content.
- Prohibited Content: You may not upload any content that is offensive, discriminatory, infringing, defamatory, or violates the rights of others. This includes but is not limited to content that promotes hate speech, harassment, or illegal activities.
- Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove or disable access to any user-uploaded content that violates these terms and conditions or is otherwise objectionable. We may also suspend or terminate your account if you repeatedly violate these guidelines.
- Liability and Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold Common Closet harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your listing and user-generated content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, safety, or quality of the dresses listed or the content uploaded by users.
- Termination: We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to our platform if you violate these terms and conditions or engage in conduct that disrupts the community or violates our policies.
Fees and Changes
All fees are payable in Kuwaiti Dinars (KWD) and are subject to change over time, any amendments to fees will be updated and reflected on our website.
We work with Tap to manage our secure payment process and you acknowledge that you allow us to share your information with Tap in order to provide our services.
Users must return the rented dress by the agreed-upon return date and time. Unauthorized extensions and late returns will result in penalties and additional late fees. For each day the rental is late, an additional fee will be charged equivalent to the daily rate of the rental dress and you authorize us to charge your Payment Method with the relevant fees.
Users’ Liability
Dress Care and Responsibility
Dress Care: You are responsible for treating the rented dress with care and ensuring its safekeeping. You should take reasonable precautions to prevent any damage, stains, or alterations to the dress.
Cleaning: If you return a dress in a condition that requires cleaning beyond what is considered normal wear and tear, you may be liable for additional cleaning fees as specified in the rental agreement.
Loss or Damage: You are responsible for the dress while it is in your possession. In the event of loss, damage, or destruction of a rented dress, you may be liable for repair or replacement costs, as determined by our assessment.
Timely Return
Return Date: You must return the dress by the specified return date and time as outlined in the rental agreement. Failure to do so may result in late fees or penalties.
Late Returns: Late returns may inconvenience other users and may incur additional charges, as per our late return policy. Prolonged delays in returning dresses may also result in suspension or termination of your account.
Payment and Charges
Payment Obligations: You agree to pay the rental fees, cleaning fees, and any other applicable charges as specified in the rental agreement. Payment should be made promptly, following the payment schedule. You are responsible for ensuring you have the sufficient funds to replace lost or damage products up to the sum of the replacement value of each product. Do not rent a product unless you have the sufficient funds to cover the replacement value. Common Closet has the right to charge your payment method with the complete amount per damaged or lost product. Funds will be directly taken from your account to cover the damages or loss without your permission.
You agree to indemnify and hold Common Closet harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses that arise from your rental of a dress or non-compliance with these terms and conditions.
Assumption of Risks
Assumption of Risks: You acknowledge and accept that the use of rented dresses carries certain inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, injuries, and allergic reactions. By renting a dress from Common Closet, you assume these risks, and the company shall not be held liable for any such incidents. Common Closet is not liable for any health-related complaints associated with renting.
Compliance with Policies
Community Guidelines: You are expected to follow our community guidelines and policies when using our platform. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of your account or legal action. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to our platform if you fail to meet your responsibilities or violate our terms and policies.
Common Closet’s Liability
Dress Quality and Availability
Quality Assurance: We strive to maintain the highest quality standards for the dresses available on our platform. We inspect and clean dresses regularly to ensure their condition meets our stated standards.
Availability: We make every effort to accurately display the availability of dresses on our platform. However, unforeseen circumstances can occasionally lead to unavailability. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternative or a full refund.
Rental Agreements
Payment Handling: We use secure payment processing methods to handle financial transactions. While we take measures to protect your payment information, we cannot be held responsible for any breaches or unauthorized access that may occur beyond our control.
Dress Care and Maintenance
Cleaning and Maintenance: We are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of dresses between rentals. Our cleaning processes are designed to meet or exceed industry standards.
Repair and Replacement: If a dress is returned in a damaged or unusable condition due to factors beyond normal wear and tear, we will assess and, if necessary, repair or replace the dress at the expense of the renter.
User Support and Assistance
Customer Support: We provide customer support to address your inquiries, concerns, and issues related to our platform and services. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve problems and help.
Dispute Resolution: In the event of disputes between users, we may help in reaching a resolution, but we cannot guarantee a specific outcome or be held responsible for the final resolution.
User Risk
Assumption of Risks: You acknowledge that, when using Common Closet to rent, lend, sell, or buy products that is entirely at your own risk. While we take measures to ensure dress quality and safety, there are inherent risks associated with using the platform. Common Closet is not liable for a user’s performance, and it should not reflect on the reputation of the company.
Lender Warranties and Representations
If you are a lender, please refer to the lender’s agreement for rent or sale on our platform. You warrant and represent that:
- Lender has read and accepted these terms and conditions.
- Lender is the legal owner of certain dresses (collectively referred to as “Items”) and desires to lend these Items to the Company for the purpose of renting them out to third parties.
- Lender will not provide Items that are not in satisfactory condition or that are damaged.
- Lender will not list counterfeit products.
- Common Closet has the right to increase and decrease the Rental Fee or Purchase Price of any product listed on the platform and the company based on demand of the dress.
- Delivery/Returns/Cancellations
- Delivery Options
We offer standard and express delivery options for the customer. The standard option includes a fee of 1 KD, and this is for orders placed at least two days in advance of the rental start date. For next day delivery, we offer an express delivery option which includes a fee of 2 KD, however, the order must be placed before 5 pm on the previous day.
Delivery Date and Time
The customer has an option to choose their delivery date and time. The minimum rental duration is 2 days.
Delivery Address:
You must provide a valid and secure delivery address where the dress can be received during the specified delivery window. We are not responsible for any issues arising from incorrect or incomplete delivery information. If you need to update your delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible.
Delivery Disputes
If you encounter any issues with the delivery of your dress, please notify us promptly. We will work with you to resolve any disputes or concerns related to the delivery process.
Delivery Terms Updates
We reserve the right to update our delivery terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be reflected in the terms and conditions posted on our website and will apply to future rentals.
By using our dress rental services, you agree to adhere to the delivery terms and conditions outlined in this section. It is essential to review these terms regularly to stay informed of any updates or changes.
Rental Cancellation Policy/Date Changes
Customers may cancel their dress rental order for a full refund up to 48 hours before their rental period starts and before the scheduled delivery date/time.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the entire rental price.
If you need to change the rental dates, please contact our customer support team via WhatsApp or email as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate date changes based on dress availability.
Personal Information
As a renter, lender or seller, your submission of personal information through the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, please refer to the Privacy Policy for more information.
Rental Terms
By renting a dress from Common Closet, you agree to abide and comply by the terms and conditions outlined in the rental agreement.
Booking and Payment:
To book a dress, you must provide valid payment information and agree to pay the full rental fee, including dry-cleaning, delivery fees and any other applicable fees before the start of the rental duration.
Additionally, we will require to take a security deposit of 15 KWD to secure your booking that will cover any minor damages on the dress. If the dress is received without any damage, you will be refunded the full amount of the security deposit after your rental period is over.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the sufficient funds to replace lost or damage products up to the sum of the replacement value of each product. Do not rent a product unless you have the sufficient funds to cover the replacement value.
Dress Modification:
Users should not attempt to alter or modify the rented dress in any way. This includes but is not limited to sewing, trimming, or making any alterations or permanent changes to the dress.

Users must return the rented dress by the agreed-upon return date and time. Unauthorized extensions and late returns will result in penalties and additional late fees. For each day the rental is late, an additional fee will be charged equivalent to the daily rate of the rental dress.
Loss or Damage
Users bear full responsibility for the dresses they rent and are accountable for any damages or losses that may occur during the rental period:
In the event of loss, damage beyond repair, or destruction of a rented dress, you are liable for repair or replacement costs as determined by our assessment. Therefore, you authorize us to charge you the price for repairing or replacing the dress, which may be up to the retail value of the dress.
Dress Condition:
The dress will be delivered to you in clean and well-maintained condition. You are responsible for treating the dress with care during the rental period and returning it in the same condition. Minor stains or wear resulting from normal use will be covered by the rental fee, however, excessive damage may incur additional charges.
Fit Policy:
We offer detailed sizing information on our website for each dress available for rent and resale. Customers are encouraged to carefully review the sizing information and measurements provided before making a rental selection or purchasing a dress.

Sales Terms
Delivery:
We aim to delivery your item within 1-2 business days of placing the order and there will be a delivery fee of 2 KD.
Cancellation Policy:
Customers may cancel their dress purchase order at any time before the shipment has been dispatched, after the dress is delivered, all sales are final, and we do not accept returns.
